Less than a month away from the opening game of the 2024 AFL season, clubs are beginning to get a strong idea of how they'll line-up to start the new premiership race.

With the early stages of the season comes plenty of debuts, with top draftees, second-year talents and long-serving sidemen eager to get their first taste of AFL action.

Every club is likely to blood new names this year, with some expected and others to come from the clouds for what will be a memorable occasion in their careers.

Carlton

Rookies:ย Ashton Moir, Billy Wilson, Rob Monahan, Matt Carroll

Still waiting:ย Alex Mirkov, Jaxon Binns, Harry Lemmey, Domanic Akuei, Hudson O'Keeffe

Most likely to debut in 2024: Sophomore wingman Jaxon Binns looms as a likely debutant after a stellar rookie season in the VFL, with the Dandenong Stingrays product earning best and fairest honours with the Blues' reserves. Both Mirkov and O'Keeffe are the next in line among Carlton's ruck stocks behind incumbents Marc Pittonet and Tom De Koningย and could earn a chance if the Blues are forced to dig into their depth options. Billy Wilson is a chance to potentially earn a maiden AFL appearance in his first year, potentially slotting into a half-back role.
