The conclusion of the home and away season means the opening 10 AFL Draft selections for this year's count are locked in.

While the trade period can be utilised to cash in these selections for attainable targets, most clubs won't be looking to part ways with their opening picks - especially given the strength of this year's pool of prospects.

Richmond has locked in the opening selection of November's intake after taking out the wooden spoon, while Fremantle will round out the opening 10 picks with successive selections, having acquired Collingwood's opening pick.

Each club will have their list of draft targets they hope slip to their early selections, and with the parity in the top echelon of this year's class, it's set to be a fascinating start to this year's National Draft.

We've looked at the settled top 10 picks in this year's draft order and matched up one prospect to each selection.

5. Pick 5: Melbourne

Harvey Langford

Position: Midfielder
Height:
190cm
State: Victoria
Club: Mount Martha

The Demons slide into the top five of the draft due to their late-season fall and the Saints' win on the final day of the home and away season, with their early selection to add to their pair of first-round picks from 2023.

Melbourne's list management team will be licking their lips if Langford is still up for grabs at Pick 5, with the 2024 Larke Medal winner a good chance to go fall to any of the four clubs with earlier picks.

Langford's stocks have soared this year and continue to rise as the draft nears, with his most recent performance seeing the teenager collect 33 disposals and booting four goals against the Gippsland Power.

A workhorse across the field to find space and damage the opposition with his smart ball work, Langford took out MVP honours for Vic Country this year while averaging 25.5 disposals, 7.7 contested possessions, 6.2 marks and 6.2 clearances across the carnival.
