Rowell's ripping start to the season was the icing on the cake for a monumental day at the Gold Coast, playing their first match under new coach Damien Hardwick against his old mob.

The 22-year-old former number one draft pick put the Tiger mids to the sword, conquering each and every stoppage to come away with a clearance winning record, out-muscling all who dared to challenge his in & under strength.

The performance set the tone for what has been a career best year for Rowell in a transition year for a Suns' side well in the mix for a drought-breaking finals berth.
