Since the late 1940's, the AFL has adopted a great tradition which allows the sons or daughters of a long-serving member of a club to be drafted by that very club.
It's always a heartwarming story when you see the son or daughter of an AFL legend run out in the same colours to continue the family legacy.
As we approach draft night, two of the top prospects will land under the father-son rule. Nick Daicos (son of Collingwood legend Peter Daicos) and Sam Darcy (son of Western Bulldogs great Luke Darcy) are arguably the best two players in the draft who will land at the club where their fathers became legends at.
Check out below to see who we think are the best five father-son combinations in the history of the game.
4. David and Travis Cloke
David Cloke [333 games, 323 goals] and Travis Cloke [256 games, 452 goals]
One thing is for certain, the Cloke boys know how to kick goals. With close to 800 goals between them, they are a must-have in this list as they both dominated their era inside the forward arc.
David Cloke played for Richmond and Collingwood, won two flags with the Tigers in 1974 and 1980, captained the side in 1982 and went on to be inducted into Richmond Hall of Fame in 2007.
He also played for Collingwood for 114 games, which gave his son, Travis, eligibility to be drafted by the Magpies in 2004 and would go on to win a premiership in 2010, a best-and-fairest and two All-Australians.
Two brutes who both won premierships and kicked over 300 goals each thoroughly deserve to be on this list.
