Melbourne's recent signing of ruckman Tom Campbell has placed him in a unique club, becoming the latest four-club player.
Campbell's departure from St Kilda to the Demons will be the fourth time he's changed address, having started at the Western Bulldogs (2012-2018) before joining North Melbourne (2019-2021).
Impressively, the 32-year-old has only played a total of 58 AFL games, with the majority of those coming from his time at the Bulldogs during a seven-season stint.
Melbourne is hopeful that Campbell will be able to assist Max Gawn and shoulder some of the ruck loads whilst also bridging the gap for the younger talls who are still in development mode.
Tom Fullarton and Will Verrall are relatively raw in terms of their development, while the club delisted fellow talls Kyah Farris-Whiteย andย Josh Schache.
However, Campbell's subsequent arrival at Melbourne joins a whole host of players to have been signed by four clubs.
It's a rarity in our game that does not happen too often, and brings back memories of players such as Craig Davis, Geoff Raines, Richard Osborne and Scott Cummings, while more recently, Tom Hickey, Jacob Townsend, Jon Giles, and Joel Hamling have been listed by four teams as well.
And then, of course, there is the โGOATโ of the multi-club players, with one reaching a record five clubs during their time in the system.
Dale Kickett spent more time packing his bag than at any club โ West Coast, St Kilda, Fitzroy, Essendon and Fremantle โ which remains a league record.
