Richmond small forward Seth Campbell has committed his future to the club, signing a fresh two-year deal.

Campbell's new contract will keep him at Punt Road until the end of 2026 and is a strong show of faith for the 19-year-old, who made his debut in Opening Round earlier this year.

The Tasmanian was ruled out for most of the 2023 season with adductor and leg issues but has put his injury woes behind him to be one of the shining lights under new coach Adem Yze.

Known for his endurance and tenacity at the contest, Campbell has played in a multitude of roles for Yze, utilised up forward and through the midfield.

“I have definitely played more games than I thought I was going to, but with the injuries and everything that has happened, it has become an opportunity for us young boys,” Campbell said.

“I feel like a few of us have stepped up and played our role the best we can and had our opportunity, which has been really good.

“There is definitely a lot of young talent at the moment at Tigerland, and I think we are just getting better and better.

Richmond General Manager, Football Talent Blair Hartley said Campbell had taken huge strides in 2024.

“After an injury-interrupted first year with us, Seth has taken his opportunities with both hands this season,” Hartley said.

“To play essentially a full season of AFL football this year will hold Seth in great shape in the future as he learns physically and mentally the demands of elite football.

“Seth is a talented kid with a great work ethic, so it will be exciting to see what he can achieve across the coming years.”

The club will farewell two legends - Dustin Martin and Dylan Grimes - during the match.
