Young Richmond forward Ben Lennon is facing an indefinite period on the sidelines after being struck down with glandular fever.

Richmond has described it as a mild case of glandular fever, but he will not travel with the team on their pre-season camp.

“While this is obviously a setback for Ben, it’s important he concentrates on getting healthy, and we will support him through that process,” Richmond’s Physical performance Manager, Peter Burge, said.

“Pleasingly, it’s a mild case of the illness, and we don’t anticipate he will be out of action for an extended period.

“We will monitor him closely, and make a decision on his availability to return to training when his health dictates."

The club is unsure when Lennon will return to training.
