Richmond young gun Callum Coleman-Jones is likely to remain at the Tigers on a new deal past this season.

The 22-year-old is yet to recommit to the Punt Road club, but according to a report by The Herald Sun rival sides have cooled their interest in the athletic forward amid belief his future remains in yellow and black.

Hailing from South Australia, both the Crows and Power were understood to be among the keen suitors chasing Coleman-Jones' signature, while Gold Coast were also believed to be in the race.

Demand for key position players is high this season, with the Suns reportedly looking to bolster both their ruck and forward stocks in the upcoming exchange period.

Coleman-Jones fits the mould Stuart Dew's list would be craving, with a tall to aid both Jarrod Witts and Ben King potentially the missing piece to move the Suns into finals contention for the first time in their existence.

However, they will have to look elsewhere should Coleman-Jones sign on the dotted line.

The forward/ruck utility has played seven games for the Tigers this year after making his debut in 2019 - his only appearance until Round 11 this season.

Coleman-Jones has shown plenty of potential in his young career, amassing 11 goals to his name this season, including four multiple-goal performances.

His ability to pinch-hit in the ruck has boded well for Richmond in the absences of Toby Nankervis and Ivan Soldo due to injury.

Fellow young tall Mabior Chol is also unsigned past this season, and could be one to depart Tigerland should Coleman-Jones' extension be seen as a priority.

The Tigers are understood to have tabled a deal to Chol, according to Triple M's Tom Browne.

Richmond have bid farewell to triple-premiership duo Bachar Houli and David Astbury this week, with the pair calling time on their decorated careers.

Their departures are sure open some financial space, however a new deal for Shai Bolton is sure to have placed more pressure on the club's budget.

Gun midfielder Shane Edwards is another who is yet to secure his future past this season, while Daniel Rioli and Sydney Stack also reportedly nearing new deals.

Trio Kamdyn McIntosh, Jason Castagna and Thomson Dow have all penned new two-year deals with the club.
