Tom Lynch crowned Richmond best and fairest

The superstar forward has taken home his first Jack Dyer medal.

Tom Lynch has claimed his maiden Jack Dyer medal, taking out the title in a close count on Tuesday night.

Lynch finished the evening with 60 votes, followed closely by Daniel Rioli with 59 and Dion Prestia with 56 to round out the top three.

The 29-year-old won the count despite missing four games throughout the 2022 season, kicking 63 goals, including a bag of eight in Richmond's Round 22 win over Hawthorn.

The star forward averaged 12.4 disposals, 6.1 marks and 3.3 goals per game this season, earning himself a spot in the 44 man All Australian team.

The vote was a tight one, with the tenth placed Nathan Broad just 14 votes behind Lynch in the count.

Lynch has previously won two best and fairest's at his former club, the Gold Coast Suns.
