The Dogs' drought-breaking grand final victory over Sydney stunned the AFL world. Despite storming through the first three rounds of finals, the Western Bulldogs still carried the underdog tag into the big dance against the minor premiers.

Sydney were heavy favourites coming into the game, despite losing their qualifying final clash against GWS, after two convincing victories over Adelaide and Geelong. The Swans extensive grand final experience and list full of superstars were expected to do the job over the young pups, who were one the cusp of winning the first premiership outside the top four since 1998.

The Bulldogs finished off their fairytale finals campaign with a captivating two-goal victory over the Swans, breaking the 62-year drought between premierships.
