Two of this year's top-rated AFL draft prospects will suit up in the VFL this weekend for Carlton and Casey.

Likely No.1 selection Harley Reid will feature for the Blues in their bout with Footscray at ETU Stadium on Saturday, named in the midfield for Luke Power's Round 6 side.

Reid, a midfielder that can move through all three lines of the field as an explosive and competitive ball-winner, has entered the 2023 NAB League season touted as the top prospect for this year's National Draft off the back of a scintillating bottom-age campaign for the Bendigo Pioneers.

The talented teenager has averaged 22.3 possessions, 4.3 marks, 4.0 tackles and 1.7 goals per game for the Pioneers in 2023 and was among the standouts for the AFL Academy's recent hitout against Port Adelaide's SANFL side.

The Tongala product will line up alongside Carlton's AFL-listed talent against the Bulldogs, with Tom De Koning and Paddy Dow also named for the Blues.

Reid won't be the only exciting draft prospect plying his trade in the VFL this weekend, with Casey handing Gippsland Power forward Zane Duursma the opportunity to pull on the red and blue against Box Hill on Sunday.

A Foster native, Duurmsa won't have to venture too far for his state league debut, with the clash between the Demons and Hawks taking place at Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve.

Duursma has been named on Casey's interchange and is set to work alongside the likes of premiership Melbourne forwards Ben Brown and Tom McDonald.

The 17-year-old is already familiar with the Demons, having trained with Melbourne for a week during the pre-season alongside Dandenong Stingrays talent Cooper Simpson, who represented Casey last week and collected 12 disposals in a loss to Richmond.

Duursma has done his top 10 draft chances no harm to start the season for the Power, averaging 20 disposals, 4.5 tackles and one goal per game from his two appearances in the NAB League.

The younger brother of Port Adelaide pair Xavier and Yasmin, Duursma also featured in the AFL Academy's clash with Port Adelaide, joining Reid in booting a goal against the Magpies.

Another Academy member featuring in the VFL this weekend includes Nathan Philactides, who will represent Richmond when they face the Suns.

Sunday's clash between Casey and Box Hill will get underway at 2:05pm (AEST).
