Collingwood star Adam Treloar has revealed his young teammate Mitch McCarthy needs a bit of practice when it comes to signing autographs for fans.
New to the practice of being stopped to sign his autograph for fans, the rookie Pies' player will certainly never forget one of his first post-training signing sessions at the club.
Treloar revealed to Collingwood's podcast, Sports Galore, that McCarthy, a former basketballer, signed an autograph for a young fan somewhere he was not expecting.
One young fan approached McCarthy and pointed to the front of his guernsey, according to Treloar, indicating he wanted the Collingwood rookie to sign it. However, McCarthy seemed to misunderstand the youngster's request.
“Everyone was walking around signing people’s shirts,” Treloar said.
“Mitchy is very new to it and not used to people wanting autographs.
“He (McCarthy) thinks the kid said ‘can you sign my chest’, so he’s pulled the shirt up, signed the chest of the kid and then walked off.
“That poor kid would have been thinking ‘what have you just done to me!’.
McCarthy was recruited by the Pies with pick No.7 in last year's Rookie Draft.
The 19-year-old is yet to play a senior game for the Pies.
