Brisbane pair Noah Answerth and James Madden and St Kilda defender Riley Bonner have been offered one-match suspensions following a "striking" offence in the VFL over the weekend.
The trio were sanctioned by the Match Review Panel (MRP) after gradings of intentional conduct, low impact and body contact were deemed as punishable.
As a result, they were offered one-week layoffs with an early guilty plea of a $600 fine and reprimand, which will likely be accepted.
The VFL home and away season came to a close over the weekend with Sandringham Zebras (St Kilda affiliate) ruled out of finals contention.
The Lions reserves side finished third on the VFL ladder and will be in contention for the premiership.
If the Lions were to challenge the sanction and failed, both Answerth and Madden would be unavailable for the club's qualifying final against Footscray Bulldogs.
This weekend will see the VFL's wildcard round which has been heavily discussed as a potential option in the AFL competition.
In the reserves league, 7th plays 10th and 8th faces 9th while the top six sides take a week off.
The following week then turns into a top-eight system that has been used in both the VFL and AFL competitions for decades.
