As many as three AFL clubs are reportedly showing some level of interest in delisted Port Adelaide ruckman Brynn Teakle, who could land at a second club after spending just 16 months at Alberton.
Teakle was one of four Power players cut by the club on Tuesday, with defender Riley Bonner, veteran Trent Dumont and rookie Nathan Barkla all not offered new deals for 2024.
The club's decision to part ways with Teakle comes ahead of a looming ruck shift for Port Adelaide, who have Western Bulldogs tall Jordon Sweet seeking a move to the Power while the club has also been linked with Richmond's Ivan Soldo.
Both Scott Lycett and Sam Hayes are still unsigned and could follow Teakle in departing the Power this off-season, with senior coach Ken Hinkley looking to strengthen his list after a straight sets finals exit.
For Teakle, the 23-year-old could add to his six career games via delisted free agency if clubs come calling.
According to AFL.com.au, the Bulldogs, GWS and North Melbourne have all been linked to the East Fremantle product as they too look to bolster their ruck options for next season.
Sweet's incoming exit will open a spot on the Bulldogs' list for a player like Teakle to play a supporting role for All-Australian ruckman Tim English, while Teakle has also been trialled as a defender and can play as a forward target, potentially giving the Dogs more flexibility among their key position stocks.
The Kangaroos will also be looking for depth options behind Tristan Xerri, while Teakle could rival Charlie Comben and Callum Coleman-Jones at Arden Street to partner Nick Larkey in attack.
North Melbourne are yet to re-sign champion ruckman Todd Goldstein for next year as he weighs up his playing future.
The Giants find themselves in a preliminary final this week and have breakout ruckman Kieren Briggs to thank as one of many reasons for their improved campaign under new coach Adam Kingsley.
Briggs' dominant season has seen him earn a new two-year deal, while fringe pair Braydon Preuss and Matt Flynn are still off-contract, with the latter gaining interest from West Coast.
The duo's uncertain future in Sydney's west could be why the Giants are keeping Teakle on their radar ahead of the player movement period.
Teakle played four games this year from Round 6 through 9 before facing further issues with injury and form. He managed two games last year, which bookended a collarbone injury that was sustained in his debut.
The 204cm ruckman joined Port Adelaide as the eighth pick in last year's Mid-Season Draft.
The first of three 2023 delisted free agency period windows will open on Wednesday, November 1 and will run for one week before a one-day list lodgment deadline, before opening for one day on November 10.
The third and final delisted free agency window will open following the National Draft on November 21.
