At least "two to three clubs" had shown interest in contract Fremantle forward Liam Henry during last year's trade window, his manager Colin Young has confirmed.
Henry's name was raised during the off-season amid an exchange period that saw five Dockers players depart for Victoria after the 2022 season.
Blake Acres (Carlton), Griffin Logue, Darcy Tucker (both North Melbourne), Rory Lobb (Western Bulldogs) and Lloyd Meek (Hawthorn) all sought moves east during the trade period in what was a bust window for Fremantle.
The off-season was equally busy for Young, who had Logue, Lobb and Acres among his list of clients that found new homes ahead of 2023.
One name the WA agent had also taken calls for was Henry, despite the small forward's contract status for this year.
During Young's appearance on Stan's AFL documentaryย Show Me The Money II,ย which was released this week, the name 'Liam H' appeared on his whiteboard during the trade period.
Quizzed on the detail byย The West Australian,ย Young confirmed there was some level of interest in Henry from rival clubs, who had reached out to "see where Liam was at" in regards to his status with the Dockers.
โIn every trade period, clubs will do their due diligence and see if players are out of contract,โ Young told the publication.
โThere were two or three clubs that did ring to see where Liam was at and his name was bandied around a little bit.
โYou just never know, if Melbourne called and wanted Liam Henry to be a part of the Luke Jackson deal, then you never know what's going to be thrown in.
โBut he was always pretty keen to play 23 games this year and finals and put his head down and prove his worth.โ
Off-contract in 2023, Henry is expected to gain further interest throughout the course of this year, with Melbourne already linked to the 21-year-old.
Amid ongoing negotiations with their own young forward Kysaiah Pickett, Melbourne are said to be keeping their eye on Henry in case Picket seeks a move west this year.
Fremantle are among the club expected to show interest in Pickett's services, with Port Adelaide and West Coast also likely in the mix for the premiership Demon.
Should the young livewire be pried out of Victoria, Melbourne could consider reinforcing their small forward stocks with a move for Henry.
News Corpย have reported the Demons may even look to gain Henry, a close friend of Pickett's, to help keep their off-contract forward.
