Adelaide train-on player Tom McGuane appeared in a moon boot and crutches at Crows training on Wednesday after suffering a heartbreaking reported injury.

According to Channel 7's Josh Money, McGuane is expected to miss the next couple of weeks of training due to an ankle concern.

After averaging 28 disposals for Western Jets in 2025 as a clean and quick midfielder, the Crows invited him to trial for a list spot, alongside Southport's Zac Foot.

The teenager was overlooked in the 2025 AFL National and Rookie Drafts last month after Collingwood opted not to select the father-son prospect.

He will still have the opportunity to press his case after Christmas, with the Supplemental Selection Period not closing until February 20.
