Kane Cornes has called for umpires to stop awarding free kicks to Dylan Grimes, who he labeled as a "serial stager".
The Richmond star went easily to the ground after taking a mark in the third quarter against Geelong and was awarded a 50-metre penalty.
โI donโt blame him [for staging] because the umpires keep paying it [free kicks]. Clearly heโs put a lot extra on that and he gets a 50-metre penalty,โ Cornes told AFL Mediaโs The Round So Far.
โUntil the umpires want to stamp this out and stop paying it โฆ because weโve seen all of these are rewarded with free kicks.
โWhat the umpires have to do is identify Dylan Grimes as a serial stager, someone who continually exaggerates contact and not pay the free kicks, thatโs the only way heโll stop doing it."
