Off-contract Fremantle young gun Liam Henry has flagged a decision on his future will be made "soon", with the Dockers wingman placing all of his attention on the final two weeks of the season before confirming what lies next.

Henry has emerged as a sought-after talent at Cockburn given his expiring contract and a run of career-best form, with the former top 10 draft selection cementing his spot under Justin Longmuir in recent months.

After being required to ply his trade in the WAFL with Peel Thunder early into the year, Henry has taken his chance at senior level since the midway point of the season - recording career-highs for disposals, clearances, inside 50s, marks and contested possessions in a role further up the field.

Complementing the Dockers' star-studded engine room with his outside run and dash, Henry's value to Fremantle has quickly risen as the end of his current deal with the WA club nears its conclusion, prompting external interest from Victorian clubs.

The Fremantle Next Generation Academy graduate was questioned on where his future lies when speaking onย Yokayi Footyย this week, with the 21-year-old noting a decision won't come until after the season has finished.

"I know there's a lot of interest in my career at the moment, but at the end of the day I'm trying to play these last two weeks," he said.

"Hopefully I'll get to make that decision sooner or later. I've got to make it soon, it'll definitely come out (soon)."

Several factors have led to Henry's breakout campaign, with the mentorship of Dockers veteran Michael Walters helping the Tammin-born speedster flourish in the top flight.

Henry has placed a large focus on strengthening his role in the team as well as the mental side of his game to help him take the next step in his career.

"Building confidence is a big thing for me. I'm trying to grow in confidence and take the game on," Henry said.

"I'm executing my role in the team. As a winger, sometime you can get lost on the far side (of the field) and distracted when you're not getting the ball.

"My willingness on the mental side of the game has been the biggest difference in my game.

"I've worked close with 'Sonny' Walters, he's helped me throughout my whole career and helped me build my confidence. On the field, he's very direct and very good with his communication.

"... I was fortunate enough to get picked up by Freo, they've helped me become a great person.ย That also relates onto the field to play some good footy."

On Wednesday Longmuir spoke on Henry's uncertain future at the club, echoing his stance that the "ball's in Liam's court" when it comes to his decision for 2024 and beyond.

Longmuir said Henry is a player the club sees as a key piece in their pursuit for a maiden AFL premiership.

"Like I've said all along, the ball's in Liam's court," Longmuir added.

"He knows that I value him and see him as a part of our success and future going forward.

"We'll wait to hear from him."

Henry is understood to have interest from St Kilda, while other Melbourne-based clubs may also come calling if he decides to depart Fremantle.
