Out-of-contract Brisbane midfielder Deven Robertson will remain with the Lions for the next two seasons, with the Western Australian turning his back on a homecoming at West Coast.
Robertson played 16 senior games for Brisbane this season, including the Lions' Grand Final defeat to Collingwood.
The 22-year-old averaged nine disposals, two marks, and two tackles across the season, displaying his potential as a mainstay in Brisbane's elite engine room.
Hailing from Western Australia, West Coast had shown continued interest in luring the former Pick 22 home, offering the potential of greater midfield opportunity among a youthful and emerging crop.
However, as reported by Callum Twomey of AFL Media on Thursday, the nephew of former Eagles skipper Darren Glass is set to remain loyal to the Lions and is poised to pen a two-year contract.
Earlier on Thursday, SEN reporter Sam Edmund told AFL Trade Radio on Thursday that whilst Robertson was always expected to give his answer today, he had a hard time making up his mind.
"He is expected to give Brisbane his answer today ... It has been an agonizing period for Deven Robertson. He has changed his mind, I'm told, multiple times," Edmund said.
"He told people in the last couple of days at the club that he was going, but then sat down for his exit meeting and indicated that he was staying."
Brisbane's General Manager of Football Danny Daly said while they were still waiting for an answer they were hopeful Robertson would remain at the Lions.
"We've been in constant contact with his management group over the last two or three days. Dev has been out and about for a couple of days, enjoying life," Daly told SEN Breakfast.
"But we're hoping he stays. He's an important part of our team, he played 16 games this year so we're hopeful he stays with us."

This year's exchange period is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 9, following the free agency space, which opens for business on Friday, October 6.
