2023 Frosty Miller Medal winner Brodie McLaughlin has signed with Williamstown following his departure from the Gold Coast Suns.

McLaughlin spent a single season with the Suns after joining the club earlier this year through the pre-season Supplemental Selection Period, however would not feature at AFL level.

The mature-aged recruit booted 51 goals during the VFL home and away season to share the competition's leading goalkicker award with then-teammate Chris Burgess, with the attacking pair helping lead Gold Coast's reserves to the premiership.

McLaughlin has booted 79 VFL goals over the past two years, having gained attention from AFL clubs at the cessation of the 2022 season after a strong campaign with Frankston.

Returning to his home state of Victoria after being delisted by the Suns, McLaughlin has signed on with the Seagulls for the 2024 season.

Williamstown announced the major coup on Friday, with the 26-year-old joining the standalone club following his career-best season at the state league level.

A journeyman across Victoria, McLaughlin has also previously been listed with North Melbourne's VFL program, as well as Boroondara, De La Salle, Balwyn and Bulleen Templstowe.

The 26-year-old went goalless in just one of his 20 games this year, with McLaughlin kicking five or more goals on four occasions.

He joins former Carlton defender Luke Parks, ex-Richmond midfielder Riley Collier-Dawkins and former Sydney-listed defender Ryley Stoddart in heading to DSV Stadium this off-season.

Williamstown finished fifth on the ladder this year after recording 13 wins throughout the home and away season.
