Hawthorn may have a fight on its hands to secure Richmond forward, Ty Vickery.

The Hawks are the favourite to secure the 26-year-old's services this trade period, with reports indicating for some time that he is likely to be lining up in brown and gold in 2017.

However, Vickery's manager, Scott Lucas, told AFL Trade Radio on Monday that it is far from a done deal and the Hawks are not the only club interested in his client.

"Free agency is something we'll strongly explore, and I don't think that's a secret," Lucas said.

"The newspapers have been very specific (in regards to Hawthorn), and I think it's a bit broader than that.

"There's additional interest here.

"Vickers was going away anyway, it'd been two or three months since he'd seen his wife (Arina Rodionova) who's a very good tennis player and had been in the US.

"If he arrives at the decision that he would like to explore those options, then I think we will."

Vickery has played 119 games and kicked 158 goals for the Tigers, after being selected with pick No.8 in the 2008 National Draft.
