Former Magpies and Crows forward Ben Crocker has been invited to train with Carlton in a bid to earn an AFL lifeline, reports AFL Media's Riley Beveridge.

It comes after an impressive four-goal performance in last week's intraclub, with the 24-year old now pushing for a spot on Carlton's list.

Oscar McDonald (Melbourne), Callum Moore (Carlton), Zavier Maher (Murray Bushrangers) are also currently training with the Blues in hopes of earning the final list spot.

They can be signed during the pre-season supplemental selection period, which ends on March 9.

Having been delisted by the Crows at the end of last season, Crocker signed with Carlton's VFL team in January. But now, the 33-gamer has his sights on the club's AFL side.

Beveridge also reports that former Eagle Alec Waterman is set to earn a spot on Essendon's list, who he has been training with, and Hawthorn has reportedly added ex-Williamstown player Lachie Bramble to its to its train-on list.
