A move to Victoria could be on the cards once again for Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines as reports begin to suggest Carlton could make a play for the 25-year-old.

While Wines is contracted to the South Australian club until the end of the 2022 season,ย AFL Media'sย Damian Barrett suggests the Blues could be in for the bullish onballer.

โ€œI think they (Carlton) will go again when it comes to a midfielder. They are really happy with securing, or effectively securing, [Zac] Williams,โ€ Barrett told AFL Mediaโ€™s Ask Damo.

โ€œI still reckon itโ€™s a watch this space on Ollie Wines and what he chooses to do. I know Carlton certainly has had a form of contact with him.

โ€œHeโ€™s going to be a big-name player in the trade period unless he goes public going into the finals series about his intent to stay as a Power player.

โ€œUntil we hear something from him of a meaningful nature about his future as a Power player, I think itโ€™s game on when it comes to his movements potentially.โ€

Wines' management were believed to have approached Carlton during last years trade window, with Essendon another Victorian club named as a potential suitor for the midfielder.
