A "significant" twist in the race for Sydney's Logan McDonald has occurred with a pair of Victorian clubs throwing their hat in the ring for his signature.
Reports have indicated Hawthorn and Collingwood have shown interest in acquiring the key forward, who already has suitors in the west, his home state.
The Swans are keen to keep him and look likely to extend McDonald's tenure at the club, but he's been given something to think about, according to Triple M Perth's Ryan Daniels.
Daniels believes both the Pies and Hawks are willing to pay "a difference of up to $200k per year" to lure him down to Victoria.
It was reported earlier in the week that the Swans' contract call was "imminent" by Daniels, who suggested the deal was just about sewn up.
If McDonald were to re-sign, he'd join a myriad of star players recommitting to the club, inclusive of Errol Gulden (2028), Oliver Florent (2029) and James Rowbottom (2028) while Will Hayward (2029) was the latest signature.
The Swans still have a handful of key players without deals beyond 2024, with Robie Fox, Harry Cunningham and former first-round pick Jacob Konstanty among them.
Star ball-winner Chad Warner is also a priority re-signing despite being contracted until the end of next year.
