Melbourne co-captain Jack Viney has taken a jovial swipe at his teammates on Thursday morning, telling Triple M's Hot Breakfast, he wasn't in the "cool group" of players at the club.

Viney was asked about a prank that took place on Channel 9 with Bernie Vince on The Footy Show on Wednesday night, but Viney said he didn't know much about it given he doesn't hang out with Vince and his crew.

"I'm not in the cool group ... that's Bernie Vince, Michael Hibberd, Jack Watts, Jordan Lewis, Max Gawn," Viney said.

"They're a bit of a clique. Walk around like they're better than everyone."

The 23-year-old admitted their was more than just the one group down at Melbourne, and took another swipe at his teammates, this time turning his attentions to the younger players.

"(Christian) Petracca would be a floater ... he's got a fear of missing out," he joked.

"Then you've got your hard workers like Billy Stretch and Clayton Oliver - you could say a little boring."

Viney was also asked about the ongoing feud between Vince and Collingwood duo Taylor Adams and Lynden Dunn, with Viney suggesting the Dees haven't forgotten about Adams' little quip.

Following the Pies' gutsy win in Perth on Sunday, Adams was asked about Dunn's form since making the move to Collingwood, and Adams told ABC Radio in Perth that Dunn was just relishing his chance to be at a successful club.

Vince retaliated during the week asking the media what Dunn had achieved at Collingwood in his short stay, and despite the Queen's Birthday clash not needing any more motivation for either side, Viney said Melbourne are always reminded about Adams' comments.

"Queen's Birthday is always a big crowd. We've had a few line in the sand games and this is another one," he said.

"We've had a good season so far and put ourselves in a position to play finals.

"There's always a bit of biff, bit of energy.

"I have heard that (Taylor Adams' sledge), that's pinned up around the club."
