Delisted West Coast midfielder Coby Burgiel has been picked up by WAFL club East Perth Royals ahead of the 2025 season.
Burgiel was delisted by the Eagles after two years at the club despite being unable to play at the top level.
The former Pick 29 came into the West Australian club as a highly-touted on-baller, where he dominated the NAB League in his draft year.
His versatility was also a striking point for West Coast when they selected him in 2022, but repeat hamstring injuries and a squeeze for spots limited his opportunities.
Burgiel played 15 games in the WAFL for the Eagles, averaging 14 disposals and three marks.
The massive signing comes as the Royals landed ex-AFL listed players Cooper Stephens (Hawthorn), Sebit Kuek (Fremantle) and Jordyn Baker (West Coast) in the hope of redeeming their grand final loss to Peel Thunder.
East Perth finished the 2024 season on top of the WAFL ladder, claiming 14 wins from 18 outings.
