Terry Wallace has continued making big calls on SEN Evenings, and on Tuesday night spoke about which team he believes has been the best over the past 40 years.

Over the course of his days in football, Wallace has seen plenty of sides win multiple flags, including his own Hawks win three during his playing days between !978-1986.

However, for the purpose of this exercise Wallace left out his own side, which left him with really only one other option.

“I’ve got to go the Brisbane Lions in their three-peat,” Wallace told SEN Evenings.

“When you go through their line-up, line to line, there’s just champions and stars on every single line.”

Brisbane won three flags in a row between 2001-2003, and also made the 2004 Grand Final before going down to Port Adelaide.

The Lions had the likes of Jason Akermanis, Simon Black, Jonathan Brown, Shaun Hart, Nigel Lappin, Justin Leppitsch, Alastair Lynch, Luke Power, Brad and Chris Scott and Michael Voss running through their side, and it was enough to help Wallace make his selection.

“Probably the two teams I was looking at – I thought the West Coast Eagles under Mick Malthouse, that was almost a state side,” Wallace added.

“I had them really high up in consideration, but I think the Brisbane Lions are the best team I’ve seen over that time.”
