West Coast have confirmed co-captain Liam Duggan has signed a new four-year contract to extend his time as an Eagle through to the end of 2028.

Duggan was eligible for free agency in 2024 but has turned down any consideration for a move away from Perth to recommit to the club on a fresh deal.

His new contract will take him through to season 14 in the royal blue and gold.

Speaking via the club's announcement, Duggan said he "wasn't ever going anywhere".

“It's just been pretty much a lifelong goal really to be a one-club player and pay back some of the loyalty the club has shown in me and that was a big part of the decision,” Duggan said.

“I wasn't ever going anywhere.

“I just want to be part of building this club back up to some of the success that I've experienced in my early days and really excited to be part of that with our younger group.

“Being in a position of leadership now I'm able to grab hold of that steering wheel and help steer it.

“That excites me and obviously with Simmo moving on there's a new chapter in that space as well that we've got to look forward to.

“Whatever happens there it will be exciting, but just want to be part of this group.”

Duggan, a member of the club's 2018 premiership side, has played 175 games with the Eagles since being drafted out of Bacchus Marsh, Victoria in 2014.

The 27-year-old has played at least 12 games in every season of his career with West Coast, averaging 18.04 disposals, 5.63 marks, 2.99 rebound 50s and 2.55 inside 50s per game across his time in the AFL.

His re-signing leaves Andrew Gaff, Jamaine Jones, Josh Rotham and Zane Trew as the club's remaining free agents for this year.
