Hawthorn livewire small forward Nick Watson has taken a one-handed screamer during a pre-season match simulation game on Thursday, showing his magical skills live up to his 'Wizard' nickname.
In an hour-long match simulation block, Watson was the one to watch throughout training, soaring off the back of Seamus Mitchell to clunk a ridiculous one-handed speckie.
Watson then cooly slotted the goal, as he did many a time throughout Hawthorn's successful 2024 campaign, including seven goals in his two finals appearances last year.
Watson demonstrated his resilience and repeated efforts that have become ingrained features of his game during the match simulation, recording multiple score involvements.
Meanwhile, Sam Frost has made a full recovery from his late-season injury.
Frost has yet to return to full training but received news from a scan this week that his bone stress has fully healed.
TRACK WATCH: Hawks turn up the heat in preparation for practice match
16-year-old father-son prospect Cooper Hodge, son of Luke, also trained with the side on Thursday for the first time, with his father watching on in the Waverley stands.
The young footballer is also a part of Brisbane's academy, with his future decision on which club he nominates an intriguing watch for Hawks and Lions fans in 2026.
Hawthorn will travel down the highway to play an unofficial practice game against Geelong on February 17 and then will fly to Launceston to take on the Bulldogs in their Community Series fixture on February 27.
The Hawks' first home and away match of 2025 will be against Sydney on the Friday of Opening Round.
