West Coast loom as a key discussion point ahead of this year's trade and draft periods, with the Eagles likely to enter the off-season as holders of the highly-lucrative No.1 pick at the National Draft.
With six rounds to go in the home and away season, the Perth powerhouse are likely needing to secure two wins before the end of the year to move off the bottom of the ladder - an outcome that looms unlikely, given they've managed just one win since Round 16 last year.
Should they retain their place in 18th come the cessation of the home and away season, the Eagles are anticipated to weigh up their options through the exchange period as a host of rivals come calling for their prized draft asset of Pick 1.
Vic Country star Harley Reid is the clear top prospect in this year's class, with West Coast seen as a strong chance to select the highly-touted teenager over splitting the selection.
The Eagles could be tempted into a trade, given the offers that will come for Pick 1, with as many as three first-round selections potentially on the table to help speed up the club's list rebuild.
Assessing the Eagles' options onย Zero Hanger TVย this week, host Mitch Keating and Rookie Me Centralย draft analyst Michael Alvaro took a deep dive into whether West Coast should look to trade Pick 1, and the names that could be on their radar if they chose to do so.
A trio of Western Australian prospects could find their way to Lathlain Park if West Coast managed to secure a trio of first-round selections, while Alvaro sees Vic Metro MVP Ollie Murphy as a suitable selection for the Eagles to consider to bolster their backline stocks.
"I'm looking at a guy like Ollie Murphy. I think he'd be great value in that kind of range as a developable key defender, which is probably an area where they can build a little bit of depth," Alvaro said.
Under the assumption the Eagles are allocated Pick 1, they'll also have the opening selection of the second round of the draft - currently placed at Pick 19. According to Alvaro, South Australian small forward Jack Delean is among the prospects West Coast could move for with that selection.
The Eagles could also look to bring in rival talent with their later selections, with the likes of WA native Denver Grainger-Barras seen as a suitable target.
