Former North Melbourne captains Anthony Stevens and Wayne Carey have reportedly had to be separated by teammates.
SEN's Sam Edmund has reported that the former teammates were involved in an incident at the Yarraville Railway Hotel on Saturday night.
The duo's friendship was ripped apart in 2002 when Carey was caught cheating with Stevens' then-wife, Kelli. The indiscretion rocked the football world and saw Carey depart for the Adelaide Crows.
Edmund's report suggests that premiership reunion celebrations were interrupted when Carey confronted Stevens over comments Carey believed Stevens had made to others about him.
Zero Hanger contacted the venue for comment with the hotel denying any such event took place over the weekend.
"It has been incorrectly reported," a spokesperson for the venue said.
"There was no event here, it wasn't us."
Zero Hanger has also contacted the North Melbourne past players association - of which Stevens is president - for comment but are yet to receive any comment.
Stevens was reportedly absent from the club's motorcade celebration on Sunday at Marvel Stadium because of how devastated he was after the altercation.
Carey spoke openly about the affair earlier this year on Channel 7 reality TV show "SAS Australia".
The North Melbourne legend said the affair had haunted him for two decades.
"The affair, it’s the biggest regret of my life as an adult," Carey said.
"I’ve done a lot of work, I’m trying to overcome it.
"People say people can’t change, you haven’t lived in my shoes if you say people can’t change. People can change, they evolve and I’m a perfect example of someone that’s been able to evolve."
