West Coast have confirmed defender Tom Barrass has requested a move to Hawthorn ahead of this year's trade period.
Despite being contracted until the end of 2027, Barrass has informed the club of his desire to join the Hawks this off-season, with West Coast to help work with the premiership Eagle's request.
Barrass officially told the club of his plans during his exit interview on Tuesday.
โTom has today informed us of his desire to pursue an opportunity at another club,โ General Manager Football Gavin Bell said in a club statement.
โWhile the club respects Tom's request, he is contracted for another three seasons and our vice-captain.
โWe will endeavour to meet Tom's request while protecting the best interests of the West Coast Eagles.โ
Barrass is a best and fairest winner at West Coast and is a member of the club's 2018 premiership side.
He has played 150 games in the royal blue and gold since joining the club over a decade ago from Claremont.
The Eagles will likely acquire a first-round draft selection in a deal for Barrass, with Hawthorn currently holding Picks 12, 30, 67 and 74 for this year's AFL Draft, as well as selections for the 2025 count.
This year's trade period opens on Monday, October 7.
