West Coast ruckman Bailey Williams has re-signed with the Eagles for a further two years.
With his contract set to expire at the cessation of the coming season, Williams and the club have acted ahead of Round 1 to lock up the 23-year-old's future beyond 2024.
The new deal will see the breakout ruckman penned to the Eagles until the end of 2026 - a period where Williams is set to further grow in his promising career.
Speaking with club media, Williams, who hails from Victoria, said it was a simple decision to recommit to the Eagles.
“There was obviously no doubt in my mind that I wanted to stay at West Coast,” Williams said enthusiastically. “To be given the opportunity for a couple more years to play here, I was stoked, it was a no brainer for me.
“It did a lot for my confidence, just being able to play week in and week out. I was obviously given a huge opportunity and enjoyed every bit of it. Now I'm looking to build on that this year.”
Williams' first game of the coming season will see the 201cm talent bring up his 50th game in the royal blue and gold, having made his debut in 2020 against Richmond.
Since then, Williams has developed into a viable ruck-forward hybrid, with last year seeing him lead Adam Simpson's ruck division.
Williams ended his fourth season with a sixth-place finish in the John Worsfold Medal count, capping off a career-best year, averaging 12.83 disposals and 27.57 hitouts per game.
The Eagles' coming campaign will commence with a Round 1 trip to Adelaide Oval to face Port Adelaide on Sunday, March 17.
