West Coast CEO Don Pyke has outlined the club's planning ahead of a busy trade, free agency and trade window for the Western Australian club.
The Eagles are hoping to bring in experienced local talent while also being key players in November's AFL Draft, with the Perth powerhouse holding Picks 3, 23 and 59 for this year's count.
West Coast have been tied to an array of sandgropers currently residing in Victoria, with Richmond pair Liam Baker and Shai Bolton having requested trades back to WA already this off-season.
Unsigned Carlton youngster Jack Carroll and off-contract Bulldog Riley Garcia are also facing uncertain futures and could see moves back home to West Coast or Fremantle, while Tigers free agent Jack Graham is said to be considering a move to the Eagles also.
The Eagles are likely behind Bolton in the two-club pursuit for the Tigers livewire, who could cost multiple first-round picks. The Dockers have a trio of selections for this year's draft, including two picks in the top 10, while they also have their opening selection for the 2025 draft at their disposal.
Baker too could cost an early pick, however Pick 3 might be too valuable for the Eagles to part with for the hard-nosed utility.
While the Eagles are open to potentially parting with their first pick to attain Baker, it won't come in a straight swap, with Pyke tellingย ABC Perthย of the club's off-season hopes on Saturday.
"Not as a standalone, no," Pyke said of the concept of swapping Pick 3 for Baker.
"The scenarios are varied and different with ultimately what we would be prepared to part with for Liam versus what does it look like for us in our trade hand and the draft table.
"It's hard because the trade stuff starts in October. I know the conversations have already started but there is a fair bit of water to go under the bridge before we get to that.
"We want to be able to bring in some talent that's mature that can help us, but we also want to make sure we keep draft talent coming onboard so that we get some high-end picks.
"If we put enough lines in the water we're likely to land something. Adding to the list in the right way to build towards the future, that's where it's at.
"Historically that is where the club has done very well and this year's draft falls very deep I am led to believe. We don't want to miss out."
The Eagles should add an early draft pick to their hand with the imminent departure of premiership defender Tom Barrass, who has requested a move to Hawthorn.
The Hawks' opening pick will come outside the top 12 spots after Sam Mitchell's side claimed a win over the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.
Port Adelaide's Tom Clurey has been linked with a potential move to Lathlain Park as Barrass prepares to leave.
Arguably the biggest list move looming for the Eagles is the re-signing of No.1 pick Harley Reid, who is through a third of his draft contract after completing a stellar first season in the royal blue and gold.
The Eagles have held discussions with Reid throughout the year in the hope of having the Victorian recommit for the long haul, however the situation that has left West Coast without a coach is set to delay any chance of a commitment from Reid.
Pyke said all parties are understanding of the state of play, with negotiations likely to be rekindled over summer.
"We're in conversation and we appreciate the situation. He's going into his first real pre-season and we're without a coach at the moment," Pyke added.
"When we get a coach onboard, he starts to talk to Harley and we'll pick-up conversations from there I'd imagine."
The 2024 free agency period will open on Friday, October 4, with the trade period to commence three days later.
The National Draft will again occur across two nights, the first coming on Wednesday, November 20.
