West Coast Eagles star forward Jake Waterman has signed on with the club until the end of 2029.
Waterman was a breakout player in a generally disappointing year for the Eagles, kicking 53 goals for the season and receiving his first All-Australian selection.
The 26-year-old key forward missed the back half of the 2023 season due to a serious illness but has since recovered and is thriving.
Waterman finished third in the club's best and fairest voting and said he is happy to put any speculations about his future to bed.
โIt's an honour to sign a long-term contract at a great club like West Coast,โ he said.
โMassive weight off the shoulders. There's been a bit of speculation for a couple of months now and a long-time coming, so I'm happy to get it done.
โI know there's a process with these things and between my management and the football club they were working away to get that done as soon as they could.
โNow it's finally done it's reality now and I'm just happy that I'm locked away here for the next five years.โ
Andrew McQualter has taken over from Adam Simpson as the Eagles head coach and will hope to see the same level of production from his key forward next season.
