Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell has reportedly sought a meeting with West Coast's Oscar Allen, fuelling rumours of a potential move from the Eagles captain.

Allen has been rumoured to seek a move out of Perth this off-season, with reigning premiers Brisbane and current ladder-leaders Hawthorn seeking his signature.

The out-of-contract key forward admitted in February he is "unsure of where the future lies" amid speculation on his contract.

10 News First revealed on Monday night that Mitchell has taken another bye-week trip out west, after the Hawks coach infamously met with former Eagle Tom Barrass mid-season in 2024.

Barrass met with Mitchell less than 24 hours after West Coast lost heavily to Adelaide last year, and it seems a near-identical pursuit of Allen is underway, as Mitchell's desire to meet the 26-year-old fell just hours after West Coast's comprehensive defeat to the Dockers.

And while Mitchell's quick visit was due to several commitments, it is understood the four-time premiership Hawk did aim to meet with Allen to discuss his future.

Mitchell's trip to Perth also comes a week after player acquisition manager for trade and free agency Jarryd Roughead was in town.

Another star Eagle on the radar of opposition clubs, Harley Reid, also reportedly had his management in Perth over the weekend.

Whether it is coincidental or intentional remains to be seen, however Hawthorn are one of many Victorian powerhouses in the running to land Reid's talents if he chooses to depart West Coast for his home state.

Reid has yet to open up on his future but has continued to laud the Eagles for assisting the 19-year-old in adapting to an interstate move.

West Coast, who currently sit with an 0-3 record, will look to begin squaring the ledger against GWS in Round 4.
