The Western Bulldogs have confirmed the departure of assistant coach Marc Webb, who will return to his home state of Western Australia for family reasons.

Webb is the second Dogs assistant to leave his role at the conclusion of the club's season, with backline coach Rohan Smith also departing after a decade of serving the club he played 300 games for.

Covering opposition and stoppage analysis under Luke Beveridge this year, Webb joined the Bulldogs two seasons ago as a midfield coach after previous stints with WAFL club Claremont, Fremantle and Western Australia's junior pathways.

Webb will now head back to Western Australia, returning to his family where he can also support his wife, Fremantle AFLW coach Lisa Webb.

The 44-year-old said he is "extremely grateful" to the club for their support over the last two years.

“I've loved my time at the Bulldogs and am extremely grateful to Luke Beveridge and Chris Grant for the opportunities provided to me in the past 24 months,” Webb said in a club statement.

“The Club has been incredibly understanding towards my family situation and allowed me to focus my time and energy on this fantastic playing group.

“I look forward to watching the Club from afar into the future.”

The Western Bulldogs managed to record 12 wins and 11 losses in 2023 to finish outside of the finals frame.

The club is expected to potentially make further changes around Beveridge, with former Gold Coast Suns coach Stuart Dew recently linked to the Whitten Oval club.

Beveridge himself is contracted until the end of the 2025 season, having re-signed with the Bulldogs in December of last year.
