Fan favourite after an emotional 2016 premiership victory, former Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy will be the latest addition to the club's Hall of Fame.

Murphy played 312 games for Bulldogs kicking 183 goals over his 18-year career at Whitten Oval.

He is already a part of a legendary group of Bulldogs players who played over 300 games, joining the likes of Brad Johnson, Chris Grant, Doug Hawkins, Ted Whitten, Scott West and Rohan Smith.

Murphy ended his career as a two-time All-Australian and a runner-up in the 2011 Charles Sutton Medal count. He is highly regarded for his leadership on and off the field, especially towards the end of his career.

Murphy will become the 23rd inductee to the Bulldogs Hall of Fame, nine years after the last inductions of Brad Johnson and Rohan Smith in 2014.

The club will celebrate the achievements of other great players throughout their history with a Hall of Fame ceremony on June 10.
