The Western Bulldogs have re-signed utility Anthony Scott until the end of the 2025 season, seeing the former rookie recruit add two more years to his stay at the Kennel.
Scott joined the Dogs from the club's VFL program through the 2021 Supplemental Selection Period, joining the club as a mature-aged pickup.
The 28-year-old made his debut in the club's season opener that same year and would have an immediate impact on Luke Beveridge's plans, with Scott ending the season with 21 games to his name.
Scott would add a further 14 games to his tally last year and has played in 20 matches so far this season, emerging as a dependable role player in the blue, white and red.
With his contract coming to an end, the Dogs have moved to lock away Scott's services until the end of the 2025 season.
“Since arriving at the Club as a mature-age recruit, Scotty has played an important role displaying his versatility and team-first attitude,” Dogs list manager Sam Power said in a club statement.
“He has played across all three lines during his AFL career and continues to be reliable in any position he plays.
“Having played just over 50 games, Anthony still has plenty of growth left in his football and we look forward to watching his development over the next two years.”
Scott is averaging 10.85 disposals, 2.60 tackles and 2.45 marks per game in 2023, playing mostly in the forward third under Beveridge to kick a career-high 11 goals for the season.
The Old Trinity product will miss Sunday's trip to Tasmania after suffering a head knock in last week's win over Richmond, with Scott in line to return in Round 23 against West Coast.
