For some teams currently sitting outside the eight, the possibility of finals football has already evaporated.

Dismal performances, rebuilds, and tough fixtures have left the wins and losses column looking bleak and supporter's minds already cast to the upcoming trade and draft periods.

With some teams in dire need of aid in every area, others sit within a whisker of finals footy and require only a lick of polish rather than a total renovation.

This led us to contemplate that if each team outside of the eight could re-draft one club legend at their peak, who would it be?

From ninth place to the certain wooden spooners, here are our selections.

Fremantle โ€“ Matthew Pavlich

In 2020, Fremantle has scored the second least points of anyone in the competition. Quite simply, they need more attacking options.

For such a young team, experienced on-field leaders are also vital for the progression of the entire list.

If these are the two major hurdles the Dockers are looking to jump, It should come as no surprise to anyone that we have selected Matthew Pavlich.

With the most goals kicked, games played and games captained in Fremantle's history, the inclusion of a peak Pavlich would instantly improve these on-field woes.

His insertion inside forward fifty would also necessitate that the opposition send their best defender to him. This would leave the in-form Matt Taberner with an easier assignment each week.
