Tigers legend Matthew Richardson has ranked his top seven AFL young guns on Sportsday.

The league is current littered with elite young talent, as seen in last year's 22under22 team.

Richardson graded 'young' players as those aged 22 years old or younger and based it off if he was building a team.

Check out his best AFL young guns below, counting down from 7-1.

5. Shai Bolton (Richmond)

Next on Richo's list is exciting Tiger Shai Bolton - another breakout star from 2020.

Bolton stepped up for the Tigers when they were missing a host of their senior players, averaging a career-high 15.8 disposals from 19 games and booting 15 goals.

He emerged as one the Richmond's key players in their premiership triumph.

Richo said: โ€œYou need X-factor in the middle and forward of the footy. I hope no one in Adelaide is listening โ€ฆ Iโ€™ve gone Shai Bolton for his work in the middle of the round and he can go forward and kick multiple goals.โ€
