Tigers legend Matthew Richardson has ranked his top seven AFL young guns on Sportsday.

The league is current littered with elite young talent, as seen in last year's 22under22 team.

Richardson graded 'young' players as those aged 22 years old or younger and based it off if he was building a team.

3. Bailey Smith (Western Bulldogs)

Richo has named Bailey Smith as his third best young player in the game.

Already a household name, in due part to that fantastic mullet, Smith is an elite young midfielder quickly rising up the ranks.

Smith had a blinder Round 1 performance against Collingwood, racking up a game-high 36 disposals and booting two goals.

Richo said: โ€œYouโ€™ve got to be able to run all day now and Bailey Smith is going to do that for you every single week."
