Tigers legend Matthew Richardson has ranked his top seven AFL young guns on Sportsday.

The league is current littered with elite young talent, as seen in last year's 22under22 team.

Richardson graded 'young' players as those aged 22 years old or younger and based it off if he was building a team.

Check out his best AFL young guns below, counting down from 7-1.

2. Sam Walsh (Carlton)

The 2019 Rising Star winner gets the nod as the second-best player in the game from Richardson.

Walsh looks set to take his game to another level in 2021, gathering 31 disposals against the Tigers last week in a well-rounded performance.

North Melbourne legend David King has even gone so far to say that Walsh has gone past Patrick Cripps as Carlton's best player.

Richo said: โ€œYou need an inside midfielder andSam Walsh showed the other night heโ€™s added that to his game and heโ€™s already a Rising Star winner."
