It's Halloween, a time of scary stories, insane decorations, and quite frankly, bargain junk food prices at the supermarket.

So, in the spirit of this storied American holiday that is somehow now a thing in Australia, it's time to see who your clubs most feared opponent is.

This is not an eye test or a rivalry thing, this is based on the numbers. Who is your club historically the worst against?

If you've got the courage, read on and find out...

Adelaide

Collingwood - 34%

The Crows' fearless nature doesn't quite extend to their own kind. The Magpies are their most feared opponent, managing only to beat them 34% of the time. It must be tough for Paul Seedsman to convince his team mates that the Pies are not all that scary.

Brisbane

Richmond - 30%

Lions fearing Tigers doesn't seem right, until you note that Brisbane have only won 30% of their contests. The Lions will need to find more heart if they're to bump that up from just a 30% win rate.

Carlton

GWS - 25%

Strange that the Blues would have anything to fear from the Giants, given that at one stage half their list were former GWS players. Perhaps therein lies the explanation, a classic inside job resulting in winning just one in four.

Collingwood

Brisbane - 43%

After witnessing Brisbane's win after the siren this season, it's no surprise the Pies would be wary of the Lions. 43% is still nothing to be ashamed of, which should give the Pies hope.

Essendon

Port Adelaide - 42%

The Power have been able to shock the Bombers into submission, with the Dons only able to win 42% of their clashes. With the incredible hype surrounding the Dons, they'll be hoping to boost that percentage.

Fremantle

Hawthorn - 28%

This one is perhaps not surprise, given the Hawks often take Freo to their haunted fortress in Tassie. The dark and the cold seems too much for the boys from the sunny West, resulting in a win just 28% of the time.

Geelong

Collingwood - 43%

Another that's perhaps unsurprising, given the amount of classics played between these two. Lucky for the Cats the 43% included a Prelim and Grand Final win or this would be one depressing Halloween reminder.

Gold Coast

Adelaide - 7 %

This is simply terrifying, if you're an AFL executive that is. A paltry 7% win rate against the Crows is frightening stuff unless you play to use it to fatten up your Sportbet account. In fairness to the Suns, they probably have a terrible win percentage against everyone. Consistency is key.

GWS

Adelaide - 29%

Not satisfied with picking one carcass clean, the Crows spotted another in the AFL wilderness and have repeatedly come back to pick four points off it. Given their short history, a 29% win rate against the Crows is not as terrible as it sounds.

Hawthorn

Carlton - 38%

Given the Hawks last 45 years, it's safe to assume they fear no one. However, the Blues seem to be able to make them nervous, with the boys from Glenferrie able to overcome them on just 38% of occasions.

Melbourne

West Coast - 33%

After such an amazing year, i'm sure Max Gawn won't be having any more Liam Ryan nightmares. But the Dees will still be wary of the Eagles despite their Grand Final triumph, winning against them just 33% of the time.

North Melbourne

Collingwood - 33%

The Magpies are developing a reputation on this list. This time it's the poor Kangaroos that are under their spell, managing a win against them just 33% of the time. They'll hope to bounce back starting next year. Don't worry, I'll show myself out.

Port Adelaide

Geelong - 34%

The 2007 Grand Final must have left such a scar that the Power never recovered and have since lost to the Cats as a matter of habit. A win rate of just 34% would suggest they clearly haven't.

Richmond

Adelaide - 39%

The Crows make another appearance, this time haunting the Tigers, who have only beaten them on 39% of occasions. Luckily for the Tigs, the 39% included the 2017 Grand Final.

St Kilda

Carlton - 26%

Another that is hardly surprising given the history of both of these clubs. The Saints have been horrendous for basically, always, while the Blues successfully cheated.. sorry, won lots of flags for decades. Regardless, a win rate of just 26% is scary stuff for the Saints.

Sydney

Collingwood - 37%

The Swoopy Bois make yet another appearance on this list, this time winning the battle of the birds. If Melbourne is a Magpie, then Sydney would definitely like to think of itself as a Swan. Nothing elegant or fancy about a win rate of 37% though.

West Coast

Sydney - 42%

Given all the classics between these two, this is interesting to see. It's probably fitting that it is closer to 50/50 than a lot of others on this list, both teams seem to hold no fear of the other, a win ratio of 42% is quite respectable.

PERTH, AUSTRALIA - MARCH 25: Lance Franklin of the Swans celebrates a goal during the round one AFL match between the West Coast Eagles and the Sydney Swans at Optus Stadium on March 25, 2018 in Perth, Australia. (Photo by Paul Kane/Getty Images)

Western Bulldogs

Collingwood - 31%

It had to be, the Pies make their final appearance. The Dogs are perhaps too busy getting involved in fake nightclub fights to worry, but a win ratio of just 31% against the Pies should be concerning for the Sons of the West.

What is perhaps strangest of all here is that the Bulldogs, Freo, North, Gold Coast, Demons, Essendon and predictably, the inconsistent Saints, are no one's bogey clubs.

While on the other hand, the Pies feature five times, Adelaide three times and the Blues twice.
