In front of a packed MCG crowd, Collingwood got the 2023 AFL Grand Final underway in style, with Nick Daicos kicking the first goal of the game.
After three minutes, Daicos slotted a set shot following a high free kick paid against Brisbane's Jarrod Berry, to hand Collingwood an early lead.
While not surprising for Daicos to be among the early difference-makers, it is relatively surprising to see him among the early goalkickers.
Brisbane won the toss and elected to kick toward the Punt Road end.
