It's once again the time of year in which we pin our hopes for happiness on some kids with potential.

As the draft is likely to yield far more questions that answers for the standard footy fan, we here at Zero Hanger have attempted to alleviate some of the ambiguity for you.

Here is a comprehensive list of future stars we feel each club should - if available - be taking with their first pick in the draft

Hawthorn (Pick 4)

Elijah Hollands

Like Carlton, the Hawks find themselves in an unfamiliar position on draft night โ€“ they actually hold a top 10 draft pick for the first time since they selected Mitchell Thorp with pick 6 of the 2006 draft.

With a foreign golden ticket to the draft's top end talent and a list gutted by retirements, Hawthorn are most likely to select the best available player at pick 4.

With this in mind, it makes sense for list manager Graham Wright to bring Murray Bushranger's midfielder Elijah Hollands to Waverley.

Despite being another draftee to miss out on a chunk of football due to Covid and injury, Hollands' name has been high on draft boards for some time now, with many seeing his am the obvious first choice prior to his ACL injury.

Hollands doesn't just possess a long kick and an ability to dominate at stoppages, he is also a proven goalkicker when he is swung forward.

With a well-rounded skillset, should Hollands become a Hawk, their years in the cellar are likely to be sparse.
