It's once again the time of year in which we pin our hopes for happiness on some kids with potential.

Here is a comprehensive list of future stars we feel each club should - if available - be taking with their first pick in the draft

Port Adelaide (Pick 35)

Lachie Jones

Following a season that saw them rise to claim the minor premiership before falling short of eventual Premiers Richmond in the Prelim, Port Adelaide will head to the draft in an effort to take the next step in 2021.

Although on paper Port is set to enter the draft with pick 35, they do have access to the top 10 talents of Lachie Jones via their Next Generation Academy.

With a SANFL Premiership for Woodville-West Torrens to his name, Jones' 186 centimetre and 88-kilogram frame proved more than a match when pitted against senior bodies.

Although Jones is listed as a defender, he proved throughout 2020 that he possessed the ability to shift into the engine room and put his stamp on a game.

With an already undersized back six, Ken Hinkley may opt to play the mulleted interceptor further up the ground.

It seems almost certain that a bid will come well before 35 for Jones, but should Port package their bevy of later picks, he will be calling Alberton home in 2021.
