It's once again the time of year in which we pin our hopes for happiness on some kids with potential.
As the draft is likely to yield far more questions that answers for the standard footy fan, we here at Zero Hanger have attempted to alleviate some of the ambiguity for you.
Here is a comprehensive list of future stars we feel each club should - if available - be taking with their first pick in the draft
Essendon (Pick 6)
Will Phillips
Having finished outside of the eight as well as losing Joe Daniher and Adam Saad, Essendon has been rewarded with three consecutive top 10 picks. The first of this trifecta is that of pick 6.
With Port Adelaide's trio of first round hits in 2018 almost certainly at the forefront of his mind, much derided list manager Adrian Dodoro will be desperate to secure his own Rozee, Butters and Duursma on draft night.
With pick 6, Dodoro should be looking to bring the best available player on the board to the Dons. If Will Phillips is still obtainable, you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be a Bomber in 2021.
At 180 centimetres and 80 kilograms, Phillips' body is ready to take on the rigours of AFL football. With a โgung-ho' attitude to attacking the Sherrin, the Oakleigh Charger's talent is a prolific contested ball winner.
Mature of mind as well body, Phillips is also said to possess burgeoning leadership qualities.
The Caulfield Grammarian possesses both pace and endurance - as evidenced by his 2.91 second 20 metre sprint and 6:38 minute 2 kilometre times.
