It's once again the time of year in which we pin our hopes for happiness on some kids with potential.

As the draft is likely to yield far more questions that answers for the standard footy fan, we here at Zero Hanger have attempted to alleviate some of the ambiguity for you.

Here is a comprehensive list of future stars we feel each club should - if available - be taking with their first pick in the draft

Fremantle (Pick 12)

Archie Perkins

Following a season in which Fremantle's backline was among the league's stingiest, it would make sense for you to bet your bottom dollar against the Docker's selecting a defender with pick 12.

Head coach Justin Longmuir has previously expressed his desire to select a ruck/forward option at some stage in the draft. Still, with an impending 11 games on their fast home track in 2021, a fleet of foot, outside midfielder is likely to be on his shopping list as well.

Should the latter prove to be the priority and Archie Perkins is available when the Dockers are on the clock, then expect the Sandringham Dragon to fly west.

With a 20 metre sprint time of 2.92, Perkins has wheels. The 188 centimetre prospect also recorded the third highest vertical jump at the Victorian combine, so finding the ball in the air shouldn't prove a stretch either.

The 18-year-old has been described as a both explosive and powerful by draft expert Cal Twomey, so should he find himself sharing a centre circle with Nat Fyfe in the future, expect the list of positive adjectives attached to his name to lengthen.

Perkins also possesses the ability to play as a high forward that is more than capable of hitting the scoreboard. With this in mind, he'll be a more the suitable fit for Fremantle's young, multi-talented midfield group.
