With the league's Mid-Season Draft set to take place on Wednesday this week, a portion of the 602-players that nominated their services are set to have their lives change forever.
For the budding youngsters that missed out on selection at last year's national talent market, it will offer them a chance to make their dreams come true - albeit a tad later than some of their peers.

For the wily veterans that have thrown their hats back into the ring, it will mean one last chance to lace the boots and keep their flames shielded from the wind for at least another six-months.
Despite the fact that not every side will enter the draft with a pick available, we have run a fine toothed comb through all 18-lists, and have made recommendations of talent for fans of every creed and clubs of every colour.
Here are the players every club should be considering on Wednesday night.
Carlton
Number of selections available โ Two
Draft Position โ 6th
At 4-7 after 11 Rounds, the Blues once again appear destined to miss out on finals football.
However, they do carry a pair of picks into the June mid-season draft.
On paper, it would appear that Carlton could use help across the paddock, but in particular in both the back and forward arcs.
With Caleb Marchbank once again sidelined, the Princes Park club could opt for a ready made name to help Liam Jones and Jacob Weitering with the defensive workload.
Should David Teague and his team also choose to upgrade their small forward stocks, then Carlton VFL listed forward Ben Crocker should be on their radar.
The former Magpie and Crow has slotted 15-goals from his five starts so far in 2021.
Undrafted Murray Bushrangers midfielder Zavier Maher could also be seen as a viable option for the Baggers.
So far this season, Maher has found the football at will at the under-age level and already has a foot in the door at Carlton, as he currently holds a place on the club's VFL list.
Gigantic ruckman, Alex Mirkov is another name that could find a place on the 16-time Premier's list - even if he has been unable to complete a medical examination due to Covid related isolation.
